Privacy Policy

Effective October 18, 2026

ELLE Family Office Network ("ELLE", "we", "us") runs the private professional community at network.ellefo.com and the website ellefo.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. Questions: deanna@ellefo.com.

Information we collect

  • Account details you give us: your name, nickname, email address, password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form), account type and the answers you choose at sign-up, such as what brings you to ELLE.
  • Your profile: photo, headline, company, location, biography, expertise, social profile links and what you are open to. You decide what to fill in.
  • What you do in the community: connections, messages, posts, comments, reactions, meetings, mentoring bookings, opportunities, recommendations, funding briefs and projects you create.
  • Private self-assessments: your ELLE Compass answers and plan, your goals and your optional faith-support preference. These are private to you (see below).
  • Conversations with Ask ELLE, our AI concierge, if you use it.
  • Toolkit documents you create: your resume, meeting preparation, nutrition plan, wellness routine, workout plan, Idea studio ideas and notes, and practice interviews (the job description, questions, the text of your answers and your feedback), including any age, height, weight, health or schedule details you choose to enter. These are private to you, are never shown on your profile or to other members, and you can delete them at any time. If you upload an existing resume, the file is read once to fill in the form and is not stored.
  • Investor toolkit: if you use it, your investment focus, the deals you track and their stages, notes, due-diligence answers, memos and the investments and values in your portfolio. This is private to you: founders and other members never see it, and it is not part of any shared brief. You can delete any deal or investment at any time. When you ask ELLE to analyze a deal or write a memo, the project brief and your notes are sent to our AI provider to produce the answer.
  • ELLE Certify: the exams you prepare for, your exam date and preferences, your answers and scores, and your mistake bank. These are private to you. Practice questions, study notes and material links are shared by everyone studying the same exam and contain no personal information. If you email a study pack to someone, we use their address only to send it and don’t store it. An outline you upload for a custom exam is read once to build the topic list and isn’t kept.
  • ELLE Path: your projects, milestones, tasks, dates, notes, the names and email addresses of people you make responsible for tasks, and the documents you create. This is private to you. When you choose to send a task to someone, we email them that task only (with a calendar invitation) or notify them in ELLE if they are a connection. Photos you upload to create a document are sent once to our AI provider to read and are never stored by ELLE; only the resulting text is saved. Your private calendar link shows task names and dates to anyone who has it, and you can replace it at any time.
  • Interview coach microphone: only on the practice interview page and only after you allow it. Your browser’s speech service (for example Google in Chrome or Apple in Safari) converts your speech to text under that provider’s terms; we store only the resulting text. Optional recordings stay in your own browser and are never uploaded to ELLE.
  • Anonymous usage statistics: to improve the site, we count page loads: which page, the day and hour, whether you were signed in, phone or computer, and how long the page was open. We do not store your name, email, IP address or the exact time; visitors are counted with a code that changes every day and cannot be traced back to you. Two small first-party cookies (elle_vid, elle_visit) help count visits. If your browser sends “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control, you are not counted.
  • Feedback surveys: if you answer one, your answers are stored and emailed to the ELLE team without your name, email, account ID or IP address, and with the date only. On your account we keep only when your next survey invitation is due.
  • My progress (only if you turn it on): the weekly check-ins you choose to log (weight, measurements, steps, workouts, energy, sleep and notes) and your fitness goals and reminder settings. Only you can see them in the app; they are never shown to other members, mentors, faith leaders or the ELLE team. You can download them as a CSV or permanently delete them at any time from the same page.
  • Progress on long forms, saved as you type so you can continue later. Saved progress is deleted after 60 days.
  • Payment information: handled by Stripe. We receive your plan, payment status and a Stripe customer reference; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Technical information: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, your chosen website style, your time zone, and basic server logs (such as IP address and sign-in attempts) used for security.

Signing in with Google or LinkedIn

If you choose Continue with Google or Continue with LinkedIn, we ask that provider only for your basic profile: your name, email address, whether the email is verified, and an account ID. We use this information only to create your ELLE account, to sign you in, and to connect the sign-in to an existing ELLE account with the same verified email address.

  • We never receive or store your Google or LinkedIn password.
  • We do not access your contacts, emails, files, calendar, posts or any other data in your Google or LinkedIn account.
  • We do not sell this information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except as needed to run your ELLE account.
  • You can disconnect a sign-in at any time in Settings, and you can also remove ELLE's access from your Google Account (myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party connections) or your LinkedIn settings.

ELLE's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How we use your information

  • To run the community: show your profile to other members, deliver messages, schedule meetings and mentoring sessions, and send the notifications you choose.
  • To suggest relevant members, mentors, meetings and next steps.
  • To process memberships and payments.
  • To send service emails (for example password resets and account notices) and, if you allow it, community updates and the weekly digest. You can switch optional emails off in Settings or with the unsubscribe link.
  • To keep ELLE safe: prevent spam and abuse, review reports and protect accounts. We keep a short activity record (for example sign-ins and payments, never message contents or passwords) for 90 days.
  • To personalize your Home page using the interests you choose.

Verification

Members can ask the ELLE team to verify their identity in a short video call, in person, or because the team knows them personally. During a video call you show your face and a photo ID on camera; you may cover everything except your photo and name. We do not record the call or keep any image of you or your ID. We only store that you were verified, when, and how. Other members see a “Verified” check next to your name.

What stays private

  • ELLE Compass and goals are visible only to you. Mentors and faith leaders cannot see them.
  • Faith-support preference is never shown on your profile or to any other member, including faith leaders. It is used only to suggest faith-based support to you.
  • Social profile links are visible only to your connections, and never to supporters or investors.
  • Supporters and investors appear in the Members directory with a label. They see a member’s profile only when connected with her, or when the ELLE team opens the directory to them; each member can stay hidden from supporters in Settings. A supporter’s or investor’s own profile is visible to members. Supporters the ELLE team has verified by phone and given full access can also browse the directory (except members who chose to stay hidden), invite members to connect, and use the wellness and meeting tools, which are private to them.
  • Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation. ELLE administrators may review content only when it is reported or to investigate abuse.

Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run ELLE, under their own privacy and security commitments:

  • GoDaddy: website hosting and email delivery.
  • Stripe: payments and billing.
  • Anthropic: powers Ask ELLE. When you use Ask ELLE, or ask ELLE to personalize a toolkit document, your message or your answers and relevant context from your profile are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models under its commercial terms.
  • Google and LinkedIn: only if you choose to sign in with them, as described above.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our members.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your information while your account is active. You can edit your profile at any time. To delete your account and its data, email deanna@ellefo.com and we will delete it within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (such as payment records).

Security

ELLE uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, protection against cross-site request forgery and sign-in throttling. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and let us know right away if you notice anything unusual.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to run the site: a session cookie that keeps you signed in and a preference for your website style. We do not use advertising cookies.

Age

ELLE is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

Changes

If we change this policy in an important way, we will let members know by email or a notice on the site. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
